Online Training on the Use of eACDS for Malaysia

The SEAFDEC Training Department (SEAFDEC/TD) in collaboration with the Department of Fisheries, (DOF) Malaysia organized the “Online Training on the Use of Electronic ASEAN Catch Documentation System (eACDS) Application” from 10 to 11 September 2020 via Google Meet platform. The introduction of eACDS version 2 in the part of the Catch Declaration (CD), Movement Document (MD), Statement of Catch (SC), and Catch Certification (CC) was imparted to participants through demonstration of the use of eACDS application version 2. This training was focused on the part of the Catch Declaration (CD) and Movement Document (MD) for eight (8) relevant fisheries officers. The participants also practiced how to use this application for their understanding. The training expected that the participants will be a trainer to impart this application for fishermen and stakeholders to use eACDS application.

New features of eACDS application version 2 is as follows; 1) Request port-out/port-in by vessel owner/Fishing master via an online webpage, 2) Bilingual both eACDS web-based and eACDS mobile application (English-Viet Nam), 3) eACDS-catch report application can get the date, start, and end position, 4) eACDS-catch report application for transshipment at sea, 5) Dashboard to summary report for the manager, 6) Status of a vessel (online and offline) on mapping, 7) Information and timeline of fishing vessel activities, 8) Vessel tracking system on eACDS that is under testing process, and 9) New application on mobile for purchasing that is eACDS-Market Application.
