Training on Gender Mainstreaming in Fisheries Sector in Viet Nam

SEAFDEC Training Department (SEAFDEC/TD) in collaboration with Fisheries the Directorate of Fisheries (D-Fish), Viet Nam organized “The Training on Gender Mainstreaming in Fisheries Sector” from 25 to 27 April 2023, at the D-Fish office, Hanoi, Viet Nam. The training provided information and knowledge on gender mainstreaming in fisheries management and development projects for fisheries officers. There were 25 participants (4 males and 21 females) attended the training. The participants gained more on the gender concept and how to integrate gender in fisheries. Moreover, they learned the tools to mainstream gender into their fisheries workplace and practiced planning for gender mainstreaming in fisheries projects and activities. They also could identify the gender gap, issues, and the need to promote gender equality. This training is an activity under the project “Small-scale Fisheries Management for Better Livelihood and Fisheries Resources”.
