Core Expert Meeting to Finalize the Handbook for Socio-economic Data Collection in Small-scale Fisheries

SEAFDEC Training Department (SEAFDEC/TD) under the project Small-scale Fisheries Management for Better Livelihood and Fisheries Resources organized a hybrid meeting titled the “Core Expert Meeting to Finalize the Handbook for Socio-economic Data Collection in Small-scale Fisheries” on 11 December 2024 at SEAFDEC/TD, Samut Prakan, Thailand. There were 12 participants from Kasetsart University (2), Prince of Songkla University (1), Department of Fisheries, Thailand (2), Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries, Indonesia (1), and SEAFDEC/TD (6) attended the Meeting. The Meeting discussed all key aspects of socioeconomic data collection in small-scale fisheries, along with methodologies for data collection that researchers and fisheries officers can apply. The handbook for socio-economic data collection in small-scale fisheries is an output from the Meeting. It can be used for socio-economic data collection across coastal and inland fisheries.
