Follow up the EAFM implementation in the learning site of Ranong Province

SEAFDEC Training Department (SEAFDEC/TD) organized the workshop to follow up on the Ecosystem Approach Fisheries Management (EAFM) implementation in Ranong Province from 13 to 14 December 2023 under the project on Small-scale Fisheries Management for Better Livelihood and Fisheries Resources. The workshop aimed to discuss on the 1) progress of activity under EAFM plan such as fish processing and squid bank, 2) identify the challenges and seek for the opportunity to implement the activity to support the community for sustainable fisheries management. The workshop was participated by 14 participants from Ranong Provincial Fisheries officers, Ranong Marine Research and Development Center, local fishers and key stakeholders (male 5, female 9). Moreover, the site visit was conducted to observe the fish processing activity and squid Bank including providing technical support to the group members. In addition, the fish-releasing activity was conducted to enhance the fisheries resources and build awareness of the local community to conserve the fisheries resources by releasing the Sea Bass fingerling 2,000 fish at Ban Hat Sai Khao village, Ranong Province.
